Start Pre
My 2year old will start pre-school next week. I sometimes wonder if Iv kept her at ho?
My daughter will be 2 on the 27th and will start pre-school next week. I sometimes wonder if Iv kept her at home too long cos she doesn't converse yet. She sings her ABC song and a few others and says a few words but my niece who's 3 months younger says quite a bit i.e. "aunty, baby's crying". (she's got 2 older siblings though). Am I doing anything wrong?
Although you will hear this everywhere, I am going to say it again - children develop at different rates. Children understand language before they can vocalize it so it is quite likely that your daughter is storing more information than she is letting on. The preschool teacher should assess your daughter's development on a regular basis and inform you of any significant lags. Until then, you can put your mind at ease by talking (and listening) to your daughter, reading, playing and enjoying the unique little girl that she is!
