What is the difference between PC Games in jewel case Vs. Box?
I have several games for my pc. One is I spy and I got it for $9.99 at Target. Then tonight I see it in a box called I spy delux for $20.00. So I looked around and all of the hidden treasure games I have been buying for $9.99 in small jewel cases also come in a cardboard box for $20.00. I read the backs and see no difference. Am I making a mistake? There has to be a difference. Any help is appreciated.
The games in jewel cases are usually bargain price games. They've been out for quite a while and not selling anymore, so the makers want to get rid of whatever they have left, so it's shipped in jewel cases. They're sold cheap because 1. they don't take up a lot of spaces, so stores don't charge that much for displaying it. 2. they're mostly inconspicuous, so stores don't charge much for displaying it.
Games in boxes cost more because it has more packaging (paper box) and better design than jewel cases. All that extra fluff costs money. Also, stores charge more for those games because it takes up more space.
The I Spy Deluxe costs more because it has more content than the I Spy game.
