Reading System
My dell laptop keeps reading error in loading operating system every time i start it?
I tried pressing F2 going through the setup menu and F12 and going through the boot menu but the same message keeps appearing
A number of reasons:
1. Yr Harddrive has failed and is not being recognised by BIOS. Go into BIOS and check that it is recognised. Also check that it is first in the list of devices in the boot order.
2. If it isn'y at the top of the list, make sure there are no CDs or floppies in the drives if these have been set above the internal HDD.
3. Yr MBR may be corrupted. Use the XP installation disk (borrow one if need be) and open a repair console by pressing R. Type fixmbr in the command line (assuming yr OS is on the only disk).
